South African home languages
Setswana lessons today, with nine more South African languages including isiZulu, Sepedi and SASL on the way — vocabulary, cultural context, and spaced-repetition review so it actually sticks.
How it works: Vocabulary is scheduled on an SM-2 spaced-repetition interval, so a word returns just as it is about to be forgotten rather than on a fixed timetable. Only words a fluent speaker has approved are taught.
Maths & numbers
Counting, number lines, adding and taking away, and multiplication from Grade 3 — short practice that moves up or down with how your child is actually doing.
How it works: Every answer is computed, not written by hand or by an AI, and each child's level steps up after a strong lesson and down after a hard one.
Coding basics
Block logic, patterns, sequences and conditions — real computational thinking, adapted to your child's grade level, not just games dressed up as "coding".
How it works: Exercises are checked against a history of what your child has already seen, so the same question does not come back twice.
Stories
Short, folktale-inspired stories matched to your child's grade, read page by page — with read-aloud for children who are not reading on their own yet.
How it works: Stories are grouped by grade, so a younger child is never handed a page written for a ten-year-old.
Feelings & friendships
Naming feelings, calming down, taking turns and being kind — small lessons for the social and emotional skills school will ask of them.
How it works: Each lesson ends in one small thing to practise today, framed positively, never as a telling-off.
Health & habits
Hygiene, nutrition rooted in real South African food, and simple physical prompts between lessons — all positively framed, never guilt-driven.
How it works: Nutrition content is built on pap, morogo and umngqusho — South African food a child actually eats, not translated Western defaults.
Kids & family activities
Structured, equipment-free activities for movement, reading, phonetics and motor skills — plus activities designed for a parent and child to do together.
How it works: Activities are equipment-free and outdoor-first by default, so nothing depends on owning something.
Parent reports
Weekly and monthly reports across all seven subjects that go beyond a chart: specific, honest suggestions for what to try next with your child.
How it works: Every report ends in a specific next step for the week, not a score — a chart nobody can act on is just a number with a border.
AI, used carefully
AI helps write your report suggestions and some practice questions, which a person or an answer check reviews first. The chat for children stays switched off at launch.
How it works: Nothing an AI writes reaches a child unreviewed: language content waits for a fluent speaker, and a question is kept only if its answer can be checked.

Retention
SM-2 spaced repetition
Vocabulary and coding concepts return on an SM-2 interval — the same published algorithm serious language tools use — so a word comes back just as it is about to be forgotten, not on a fixed timetable.

Adaptive difficulty
Lessons follow your child's real trailing performance, moving up after consistently strong scores and easing back after a rough patch, instead of running one fixed curriculum at every child.
Teaching
Socratic hinting (coming later)
Switched off at launch. When it returns, the AI coach escalates hints across a conversation rather than handing over the answer — and both the child's message and the coach's reply pass a safety check before anyone sees them.

Configurable break reminders nudge your child toward a quick, equipment-free physical activity during longer sessions — you choose whether they're on, and how often.
Family linking
Share access between guardians — both parents can see the same children's progress, reports, and settings, invite-code style, similar to how family sharing works on the platforms you already use.
Groups & friendly competition
Create or join a family or class learning group, see a real ranking based on XP earned, and a shared activity feed — healthy motivation, no ads, no strangers.
