Delete your account
You can permanently delete your MzansiAcademyKids account and your children's data at any time. You do not need the app installed, and you do not need to sign in.
What gets deleted
Everything personal, permanently and irreversibly:
- Your guardian account — name, email address and sign-in details
- Every child profile in your family — names, dates of birth, grade levels and language preferences
- All learning history — lessons, exercise answers, XP, streaks, achievements and progress records
- Any conversations with the AI Coach, and all AI-generated reports about your children
- Scheduled activities, calendar links, notification settings and group memberships
If you share a family with another guardian, your own account is removed but your children stay with the remaining guardians — deleting your account never erases a co-parent's children. Your children's data is deleted along with the family only when you are the last guardian in it.
What we keep, and why
Records of payments you made are retained, because South African tax and accounting rules require us to keep transaction records. They are unlinked from you in the process, so what remains is an anonymous transaction record and not a profile. It contains no name, no email address and no information about your children.
How long it takes
Deletion happens immediately when you open the confirmation link — there is no waiting period and no recovery window. The confirmation link itself expires 24 hours after you request it. Routine encrypted backups are cycled out within 30 days.
Prefer to do it in the app?
Open MzansiAcademyKids and go to More → Profile Settings → Delete Account. It deletes exactly the same things.
